Common Questions

1. How do you usually work with clients?

My goal is to create confident, successful sporting athletes that can perform consistently. The way that I do that is to mentor, coach, and give my clients personal attention in each module to help develop their mindset, grow their self-belief and accept challenges without anxiety. So that you can play and compete at your optimum level in the sport that you love, you have my coaching experience and knowledge as a mentor & accountability partner, to guide you throughout your journey.

Athletes know that they have something important to give to their sport and something exciting to achieve. They want to live their sporting life to the fullest and perform to the best of their ability. Sportsmen & sportswomen venture into their sporting careers unsure but hopeful of what they can achieve and what levels they will be able to reach. You are a solo army, thinking, acting, and feeling your way through physical and mental challenges, figuring out the best outcomes that you can. This normally results in athletes achieving only half of their potential, consistently underachieving, and loss of their confidence in their ability. One major setback or failure can have huge implications, sparking a flurry of limiting beliefs that alter thought and behaviours. The sole reason after all that you came into this sport, was wanting to play and compete on your terms and for your greater good, but now find yourself suffering more than before.

The way that you change all of the above is by looking at the differences between your strengths and weaknesses predominantly. Successful athletes put systems in place which limit the possibility of large failures or setbacks, and have a process for the development of their weakest points, over time converting them into opportunities and strengths. This means that you will dictate the direction of your sporting career on your terms.

The outcome will allow you to play with a sense of freedom and enjoyment, not think about the consequences of mistakes, and approach challenges with resilience and determination.

2. What can I expect from the call?

I will be conducting a high-level personal analysis so I can determine what is NOT currently working for you and what your challenges are. Once we are both clear on what the situation is, we will discuss your goals. If we then determine that working with me is the best next step towards achieving your goals and solving the root issues that you have with your mindset and behaviours, we will talk that through. If it ends up not being a fit, I will still point you in the direction of resources that will help you.

I started working with Steve at the start of this year in preparation for a very challenging and daunting Ultra-Running race goal. Shortly after I was sidelined with a serious injury. Steve’s mindset coaching through a pivotal time in my professional and sporting life helped me find clarity and strength. From goal setting and helping me clearly define what I need, to understanding my personal motivations past and present, working with Steve has helped me find new levels of resilience, strength and confidence as an athlete, a manager and a parent.

Steve is extremely insightful and knowledgeable. He enables you to see the possibilities you always had and gives you the tools to break down the barriers to achieving your goals while providing you with support and encouragement through both the good and the bad.

I am extremely grateful to have someone with Steve’s insight, knowledge and experience on my team.
